Six Interactive Experiences in the Knowledge Center at Itron Inspire 2026
The Knowledge Center has always been one of the most hands-on parts of Itron Inspire, and this year will be no different. It's where attendees can move beyond presentations and experience technologies and solutions firsthand.
At Itron Inspire 2026, the Knowledge Center will bring together live demonstrations and interactive exhibits focused on some of the utility industry’s most pressing priorities. With plenty happening across the show floor, here are six stops worth adding to your list.
1. Put Fault Prevention to the Test
Utilities have growing volumes of data that provide insight into what's happening across their systems. The key is putting that information to work before potential problems become outages.
At the Advanced Grid Reliability station, attendees can take part in an interactive Fault Prevention demo built in a "choose-your-own-adventure" format. The experience demonstrates how advanced analytics can help utilities detect emerging risks and prevent unplanned outages, supporting safer, more reliable grid operations.
2. See a New Approach to Managing EV Charging Demand
As EV adoption grows, charging demand is adding another variable for utilities to manage at the grid edge.
At the DER Management station, attendees can learn how Itron's EVSE Management solution and the Riva Flex controller support flexible control of EV charging and other premise-level loads. The station will also feature EV and solar detection and IntelliFLEX, bringing several approaches to demand and asset coordination into one experience.
3. Experience the Grid Edge Intelligence Story
Grid Edge Intelligence gives utilities greater visibility and control at the edge, helping them use data to operate a more reliable and efficient grid.
This station brings the broader story together, uniting metering, network connectivity, interoperability and software applications to protect affordability, improve reliability, unlock capacity and achieve AI-enabled, measurable outcomes. Attendees can also explore OpenWay Forward, Itron’s phased approach for evolving existing OpenWay systems toward next-generation Grid Edge Intelligence capabilities. The Intelligent Edge Operating System serves as the connective layer, providing common integration, data-processing and user-experience services across Grid Edge Intelligence applications. Itron Enterprise Edition® Cloud AI turns utility data into operational intelligence with cloud-native meter data management and AI-enabled workflows.
4. Push the Limits of What Lighting Infrastructure Can Do
Utilities need better visibility beyond the meter to understand changing conditions across the distribution grid.
At the Grid Edge Lighting station, attendees can see how networked lighting controllers transform connected streetlights into utility-grade sensing points. Demonstrations will show how existing lighting infrastructure can deliver electrical, outage, weather and asset-location data, helping utilities improve outage response, support grid planning and gain more value from infrastructure already in the field.
5. See How Gas Intelligence Supports Safer Operations
Gas utilities need greater visibility and control across their distribution networks, especially when potential safety issues require a fast response.
At the Gas Edge station, attendees can explore technologies designed to help utilities turn visibility into action. Featured solutions include Intelis® Gas smart meters, along with battery mesh and cellular connectivity options that help utilities balance performance, coverage and cost. Demonstrations of Gas Distribution Safety and Temetra® will show how connected devices, networking and data management can provide deeper operational insight and support faster, more informed responses.
6. Go with the Flow of Smarter Water Management
Water utilities today are seeking a practical path to modernization that helps them gain greater system visibility, reduce losses and better manage this precious resource.
The Smart Water Solutions station spotlights technologies designed to support that journey. Ultrasonic metering and flexible connectivity options provide the foundation, while applications help utilities collect, manage and act on water data. Temetra Water Loss Management and Pipe Asset Management put that data into context, helping utilities identify leaks and address non-revenue water loss.
Round It Out with the Itron Experience
Returning by popular demand, the Itron Experience connects many of the ideas explored throughout the Knowledge Center, inviting participants to step into a virtual utility environment and discover how individual decisions can affect the bigger picture. As conditions change, they’ll need to weigh competing priorities and make choices that impact reliability.
See It All Come Together in the Knowledge Center
This represents only part of what attendees will find in the Knowledge Center. Around every corner, there will be another technology to explore, question to ask or conversation to start. Itron experts will be on hand to connect what’s on display to the challenges utilities are working through today.
Whether you have a specific solution area in mind or simply want to discover what’s new, we look forward to seeing you in the Knowledge Center at Itron Inspire 2026.
